UNLIMITED AREAS - Art with Mentally Disabled Persons
Through « UNLIMITED AREAS » we want to create an international artistic / cultural platform, including social engagement and solidarity in the field of art. Our aim is to create intercultural dialogues between France / Turkey and develop a long term exchanges/cooperations in order to enrich artistic interventions on the international level by including all persons "unlike others" (persons with mental disabilities like autism, down syndrome, schizophrenia, psychological troubles...)
Within this project 2 partner organizations, in Paris (PERSONIMAGES) and in Canakkale (CABININ), will organize art-workshops with mentally disbled adults (10 persons in Paris and 10 in Canakkale), that are focused on visual and performing arts with a common conceptual framework. At the end of this project, live performances and rotating exhibitions will be held in the emerging cities, Paris and Canakkale.
Our aim is to enable mentally disabled persons to take part in an innovative and creative art projects within international culture-art platform. Moreover, professional teaching-artists would be able to develop new insights and new perspectives during the project which might serve as the infrastructure for their further works. With this process, opportunities to share experiences within pedagogical approches would be create by the exchange of Teaching-Artists that work in both cities.
