«Towarishch Gorch Fock: Immersing into space and time “ is a project based on collected material from Kherson, Stralsund and the Ruhrarea. Basic inspiration/ starting point is the story of the tallship Towarishch/Ex Gorch Fock, which made its way from Germany to Kherson and back to Germany. We and our friends and colleagues will do interviews and find stories, images, music, film.. .starting with the shipstory, possibly wandering of to stories about work, war, relationships, myths... this material will be collected, sorted, worked with. We will write a script based on it and transform it into a performance/documentary theatre or scenic installation.
Work on the project started in October 2o11 with individual research (interviews and transcription) in Kherson/UA and the Ruhrarea/Germany as well as in Stralsund. In January Mykola Homanyuk transformed the found material into a dramatic script and started rehearsals with a huge group of young people in Kherson.
