Expanded (art) School
The project EXPANDED (art) SCHOOL is planned as a test run for alternative channels and methods in art education. The short term (Tandem project period) aim is to develop a ‘mobile’ platform for exchange of ideas and experiences, through seminars and workshops at various art schools of universities in Anatolia and organize an international Summer Camp with students from Turkey and Europe. In the long term, the project aims to search for possibilities to initiate an ongoing, collaborative, self-organised, non-hierarchical, interdisiplinary learning platform.
The project EXPANDED (art) SCHOOL consists in a series of workshop and encounters to take place in Turkish universities and cultural organization and a Summer Camp with international and Turkish participants
The first stage will be the visits of a group of artists, writers, cultural operators to a number of art faculties in universities located in Anatolian cities in order to realize seminars and workshops (March 2012). Following this period an open call or a method of selection will be used to invite art students to apply for participation to an international Summer Camp (launch of the open call: April/May 2012) to be organized in September 2012 at a location to be decided soon. The Summer Camp will be structured as a stretched brainstorming session with tutoring moments and informal learning moments, combining collaborative production, research and leisure time.
